An airtightness test is an integral part of energy efficiency calculations for both domestic and commercial developments. As part of the SAP calculation, all new dwellings must have an air test score helping the building comply with the Target Fabric Energy Efficiency Target. As energy efficiency requirements get ever tighter it is increasingly difficult to achieve compliance without an air test.
Once the building work on the dwelling has been completed and all external and internal mastic works are finished, our team can complete comprehensive air testing aswell as offer advice and building guidance to overcome the technical challenge of air movement.
As an insulation manufacturer, you might not be aware we have specialists in water efficiency. As part of our Energy Assessment service, we offer advice and guidance around Part G of building regulations which requires all new homes to meet water efficiency targets. In fact, dwellings must show demonstration of using no more than 125 litres per person per day. Our detailed calculations assess what plumbed services are present in a building and their individual water use based on capacity and/or flow rate.
It can be a tricky subject, but our experts are experienced when dealing with water calculations so you don't need to worry. They conduct the formal calculations required by building control and can also provide guidance on what amendments can be made to meet specifications
When poorly insulated, junctions and openings often cause issues with mould, which are a potential implication to a homeowners health. Plus, in modern construction, there seems to be more and more cavity furniture to think about with lintels, meter boxes and telescopic air vents all required. These are of course, areas of potential heat loss if not insulated correctly.
The implications of these factors to the Housebuilder are significant, so we take this challenge and provide reasonable advice to overcoming the risks. It's not just good practice, it's the best.
