IMPORTANT: On 1 September 2017, Celotex took the precautionary measure to temporarily suspend the supply of Celotex FR5000, Celotex CG5000, Celotex CF5000 and Celotex SL5000 while we investigate the results of recent tests (Parts 6 and 7 of British Standard 476). The developers, Guild Homes Ltd, were granted planning permission to build 30 homes in Drake Street, Welland, Malvern, Worcestershire. The £6 million development comprises 12 social housing properties.
J Guest Ltd was appointed to carry out the installation of walls and floors throughout the properties, which included cavity wall insulation to ensure homes meet UK building regulation U-values on completion. To meet the thermal performance required, the insulation specified had to deliver excellent U-values as well as reduce thickness and amount of materials within the full fill masonry cavity wall application.
Contractors, J Guest Ltd, installed 2,400m², 97mm of Celotex CF5000, and 1,200m² of Celotex XR4000 150mm. Celotex CF5000 is a premium performance PIR solution specifically designed for use within full fill cavity wall applications. CF5000 helps simplify compliance to UK building regulations by maximising thermal performance without widening the cavity. Ideal for flooring and walls, Celotex XR4000 helps users achieve lower U-values with just a single layer. Celotex XR4000 is available on the market which delivers incredible thermal insulating properties. As with all Celotex products they come with online tools, support and aftercare.
Quick and easy to apply, Celotex CF5000 and XR4000 ensured contractor, J Guest Ltd, was able to complete the wall and flooring insulation to the client’s strict deadline and achieve the required 0.18W/m²k U-value. The Drake Street housing development is due for completion in December 2016. The specification of Celotex will ensure residents enjoy the physical and financial benefits of a well-insulated home.
Steve Gardner, Director of Guild Homes Ltd, commented: “We required insulation which achieved the required U-value at the perfect thickness for the 100mm cavity – Celotex met those requirements. It is extremely easy to install, making it perfect for a large project such as this. Celotex is renowned for its durability and high-performance qualities. It didn’t disappoint and more than lived up to expectation.”
