Partial fill cavity wall insulation for healthcare buildings
IMPORTANT: We have recently identified a compliance issue relating to our calculation and testing of the lambda value of products in our 4000 and 5000 range and the Crown-Bond and Crown-Fix products within Crown Flat Roofing range. Please note that CW4000 manufactured after 15 December 2017 will be marketed from January as Celotex CW3000 with a declared lambda value of 0.023 W/mK. With low environmental impact and long term thermal efficiency key to the project’s strong ‘green’ credentials – Celotex’ CW4000 cavity wall insulation proved the perfect solution to complete the building’s high performance thermal envelope for the NHS Centre project.
Delivered by Morgan Sindall through the Local Improvement Finance Trust (LIFT) procurement initiative, the building has been designed to incorporate high environmental principles during the build process and throughout its lifetime thermal performance. To achieve these environmental standards, over 1,000m2 of Celotex CW4000 – specifically designed for partial fill cavity wall applications – was specified in a thickness of 50mm.
Celotex CW4000 provides a lightweight, simple insulation solution for partial fill cavity wall applications. Available in a range of thicknesses from 25mm to 100mm, it has been proven to reduce heating needs, carbon emissions and energy costs, whilst delivering better U-values with thinner solutions. Proving its suitability to meet stringent building regulations, CW4000 has also been awarded BBA certification, as well as Energy Saving Trust and Ofgem approval.
With an excellent lambda of 0.022W/mK, it can deliver 100% more thermal efficiency than many mineral fibre products, and unlike mineral wools and phenolic foams– which are significantly compromised when exposed to water – Celotex CW4000’s closed cell structure is hydrophobic which means it does not absorb water, so the thermal performance and integrity of the product will be retained over time.
Celotex CW4000 achieves a low environmental impact through the BRE Approved Environmental Profile. It has also been awarded an A+ Rating when compared to the BRE Green Guide, signifying a 15% reduction in environmental impact when compared to traditional PIR – making it the ideal choice to achieve the building’s environmental targets.
The specification and installation of Celotex CW4000 insulation has ensured that the stunning new health centre will not only provide a welcoming environment and much-needed healthcare facilities for the residents of Doncaster, but also deliver exceptional energy efficiency for many years to come.
