In 2015 Saint-Gobain celebrated its 350thanniversary and re-defined its core purpose to create great living places and improve daily life. As a business, Saint-Gobain designs, manufactures and distributes materials and solutions, which are key ingredients in the wellbeing of each of us and the future of all. They can be found everywhere in our living places and our daily life: in buildings, transportation, infrastructure and in many industrial applications. They provide comfort, performance and safety while addressing the challenges of sustainable construction, resource efficiency and climate change. Saint-Gobain is present in 67 countries and employs over 180,000 people worldwide, including over 17,000 in the UK & Ireland. It was founded in 1665 to deliver a world first – the production of glass on an industrial scale - and has continued to grow its business through adapting and innovating to provide new services, products and ways of working with customers.

In the UK and Ireland, some of the best known and respected companies in the construction industry are part of Saint-Gobain. Alongside Celotex, these include British Gypsum, Glassolutions, Saint-Gobain Weber, Saint-Gobain Glass, Saint-Gobain PAM, SaintGobain Isover, Pasquill and Ecophon.

Together they offer a range of high performance energy-saving products and solutions to help create a more sustainable built environment. Acquired by Saint-Gobain in September 2012, Celotex is the UK’s market leader for PIR thermal insulation, offering premium insulation solutions for new build and refurbishment applications for both the commercial and domestic sectors. MULTICOMFORT

Like eating well and exercising, buildings can make us feel good and live well. We spend up to 90% of our time indoors; therefore, buildings should be designed for us! The MULTICOMFORT design concept is about building and renovating our homes, offi ces, schools, hospitals and other buildings in a way that gives us improved comfort, health and wellbeing whilst protecting the environment.

MULTICOMFORT buildings incorporate the PassivHaus standard so have a very low energy demand and provide the ultimate in Thermal Comfort. In addition, MULTICOMFORT buildings provide high levels of Acoustic Comfort, creating a sound environment, enhanced Visual Comfort offering optimum levels of natural daylight and connection with the outdoors, plus improved Indoor Air Comfort, increasingly important as we become more urban and our buildings are surrounded by busy roads, on flight paths or in higher pollution areas. You can read more about MULTICOMFORT here.
