Vacancy 1: Electrical Biased Process & Project Engineer
Location: Hadleigh

    This is an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Biased Process & Project Engineer to take a lead role in the optimisation of the production plant at Hadleigh, and development of the plant and site electrical systems. Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience required for this role:

    • A degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering is preferred although equivalent Electrical experience will be considered.

    • Qualification in City & Guilds Inspection & Testing (2391) is a requirement

    • Qualification with experience of Electrical and Safety design of new Equipmeny

    • Experience in the installation of Electrical Systems, both Infrastructure and Machinery.

    • Experience in the planning and management of complex multi-disciplinary projects.

    • A safety qualification such as an IOSH Certificate would be an advantage.

    • Strong understanding of PLC systems with particular knowledge of Siemens S7 is preferable.

    • A good working knowledge of SCADA & HMI systems would be an advantage.

    • Skills in Focused Improvement, RCA, FMEA/problem solving are essential.

    • Experience of equipment design for manufacture, with a background in a production environment is desirable.

    • Experience of working in teams to maintain electrical equipment and attend breakdowns.

    • Experience of writing risk assessments and method statements.

    • Experience of the Electricity at Work Act and the duties of a site Electrical Duty Holder,

    • Excellent numeracy skills particularly database skills and spreadsheets.

    What will I be doing in the role?

    The role of Development Chemist involves:

    • Being responsible for the project managed development of new products through development of new chemicals, formulations and processes both in the laboratory and on the production plants.

    • Being responsible for the project managed development of new facer technologies both in the laboratory and on the production plants.

    • To evaluate competitors’ products physical and declared properties for the purpose of benchmarking new products.

    • Departmental H&S and Risk assessment.

    • To assist other development functions in plant trials and evaluation of plant trial samples physical properties.

    • To assist in problem solving on the Plant with respect to existing production where this relates to chemical, formulation or product performance issues.

    • To evaluate, originate and update Celotex specifications and work instructions within Development and with respect to changes within production arising from development activities.

    • To evaluate, originate and update Celotex COSHH assessments of laboratory chemicals.

    • To assist in staff training, in the use of new chemicals, formulations and chemicals processing systems and/or methods.

    • To keep accurate paper and/or computer records of all evaluations, investigations and trials and issue reports to the Development Manager on a monthly basis.

    The Multi-Skilled Engineer will be responsible for general and preventative maintenance, as well as installation, modification, repair and proactive fault finding of production equipment at the Eggborough site. This is initially a dayshift role, progressing to a two-shift pattern in the near future.

    To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have experience of automated electro mechanical servo motion and robotics in fast moving plants and machinery, and experience using preventative maintenance systems. You will be passionate about delivering high quality service and achieving excellence in all you do. Electrically, your experience must include three phase, inverters, control panels, sensors, and fault finding PLC Siemens S7 controlled machinery.     In this role you will ensure that the supply of raw materials, production and haulage capacity in both Celotex plants are in line with the demand from our customers, whilst minimising working capital requirement.

    • Expertise in statistical analysis of demand patterns and management of supply (demand forecasting, calculating raw material safety stock levels and reorder points, ABC/XYZ analysis…)
