October 2010 saw the introduction of the new Part L Building Regulations which call for a 25% reduction in carbon emissions compared to 2006 levels. A fundamental part of the revised Regulations is the significant improvements in U-values within the building fabric. Typically meeting this level of improvement will require 45% more insulation. (For details on the new edition of Section 6 (Energy) - Domestic 2010 for Scotland please click here).
As an aid to help you we have produced a 'Quick Guide to Understanding the Regulations' that takes you through the key highlights. These include recommended new target U-values to help with compliance as well as an insight to tighter demands on thermal bridging, air leakage and party walls.
Achieving a 25% reduction in CO2 emissions could result in U-values as low as 0.10 W/m2K being required. Our super low lambda of 0.021 W/mK offers better U-values and thinner solutions making compliance all the more achievable and helping meet your design needs.
We have produced a 'Performance Guide' demonstrating how effective Celotex products are and how achieving the requirements of Part L of the new regulations using better U-values and thinner solutions is more practical than with other insulant types.
Our super low lambda of 0.021 W/mK will leave others trailing in our wake.
