The Energy Bill introduced to Parliament on 8 December 2010 includes provision for the new 'Green Deal', which is intended to revolutionise the energy efficiency of British properties.
The Government is establishing a framework to enable private firms to offer consumers energy efficiency improvements to their homes, community spaces and businesses at no upfront cost, and to recoup payments through a charge in instalments on the energy bill.
The Construction Products Association (CPA) are working with the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) on the development of the Government's Green Deal policy. The CPA asked for help from its members by calling for secondees from the construction industry to assist in developing specific aspects of the policy. Celotex responded to that call and are now part of the CPA Green Deal Team working closely with DECC on a range of issues around product standards, testing, selection and supply chain delivery.
