Energy Efficient Performance Ratings

EPCs record how energy efficient a property is as a building and provide performance ratings from A-G. They are issued after the property is built, and are produced using standard methods and assumptions about energy usage so one building can be directly compared with another of the same type. This allows prospective occupiers to consider energy efficiency and fuel costs before committing to a property.

EPCs are legally required for all homes, whenever they are built, rented or sold. As legal documents, they can only be produced by accredited energy assessors.
