    What will I be doing?

    In the role as Engineering Manager you will:

    •  Lead and manage the Eggborough site’s Engineering function and help create and embed a World Class Mindset (WCM) through a policy of continuous improvement.
    • Deliver professional maintenance standards through the Engineering team and by working closely and in conjunction with the Operations team to develop, coach and lead and ensure standards are met to increase reliability, safety and performance of all manufacturing processes, effectively on time to budget.
    • Work closely with the Operations Director, Director of Project Engineering and Engineering Manager from Celotex’s Hadleigh site to deliver world class reliability performance of the plant.
    • Support development and delivery of the Celotex business plan and capital expenditure requirements. Develop and contribute to the long term engineering strategy for the business ensuring optimum manufacturing performance at all times.
    • To ensure that all key performance indicators (KPIs) and / or objectives set are performed effectively and within target and agreed parameters.

    • Knowledge of and ability to apply lean manufacturing/WCM tools and techniques
    •  Proven capability to lead, coach and train others to develop and contribute well in their roles
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate and gain credibility across teams and department to ensure delivery of strategic plans and goals
    • Ability to translate broad strategies for change into specific goals, objectives and responsibilities.

    • Ability to assimilate data and make clear, sound decisions.
    • Ability to produce and review detailed numerical and statistical analysis on line and overall plant performance to generate improvement projects.

    You will lead the maintenance team to provide professional maintenance standards, maintaining rigour throughout. You will resolve breakdowns safely and efficiently, get to their root cause and enact countermeasures to ensure they do not recur. You will also champion the World Class Mindset program on site, focusing on working to fulfil all requirements of the Reliability pillar. You will co-ordinate all Work Requests, managing their assignment and the relevant communication to all parties involved.

     

    To be successful in this role you will possess the following:

    • HND Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Multi-skilled.
    • Level 3 City and Guilds Certificate BS7671 / C&G 2381 17th edition.
    • Proven pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical knowledge including PLCs.
    • Circuit (415v 3-phase) & PLC fault finding/basic programming skills preferably Siemens.
    • Proven record of hands on working experience servicing continuous production lines.
    • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
    • Knowledge of Pemac CMMS software or alternatives.
    • Good experience of man management and a strong team player.
    • Able to work to tight deadlines and have good attention to detail.
    • Strong character with drive, energy and enthusiasm and a pro-active attitude and ability to work on own initiative.

    What will I be doing?

    • In the role as Engineer you will:
    • Be responsible for completing all preventative and general maintenance work on site on time and ensuring all records are completed and up to date at all times.
    • Be proactive in detecting and diagnosing electrical and mechanical problems whether existing or potential on all equipment.
    • Ensure that all equipment is maintained to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
    • Deal with any unscheduled and emergency maintenance work and breakdowns, including all fault finding and necessary repair.
    •  Interpret engineering drawings and specifications when required to diagnose and resolve problems or when installing new equipment.
    • Work in teams with other Engineers or Operators to identify issues and faults and solve problems and increase the reliability, availability and utilisation of the plant.
    • Ensure all breakdowns are reported and recorded to failure mode level so effective analysis can be completed enabling the correct and appropriate counter measures to be identified and implemented.
    • Install or modify all existing equipment on site as and when required.
    • Drive and maintain forklift trucks working with external contractors, when required.
    • Maintain factory services in excellent order and ensure housekeeping around electrical substation and distribution panels are kept to the highest standard.
    • Adhere to Safety and Quality Control processes and procedures and demonstrate commitment to Operating Procedures and the processes of continuous improvement.
    • Train Engineers and Operators as required and maintain and develop good inter-department relations and communications.
    • Liaise with the Engineering Manager, Operators, Engineering Planners and Team Leaders to ensure the maintenance of all assets occurs.
    • Ensure that high standards of housekeeping are established and maintained at all times utilising 5S system.

    • Experience of working in a continuous manufacturing process environment using TPM and other preventative maintenance systems is essential.
    • Electrical experience which includes three phase, inverters, control panels, sensors and experience of Fault Finding PLC Siemens S7 controlled machinery; Systems knowledge would also be an advantage.
    • Hands on mechanical experience working with hydraulics, pumps, gearboxes, valves.
    • A good working knowledge of SCADA and HMI systems would be an advantage.
    • Experience of World Class Manufacturing/Lean methodology and techniques including RCA would be beneficial.
    • Experience of working in teams to maintain equipment and attend breakdowns.
    • Experience of writing risk assessments and method statements.
    • Excellent numeracy skills particularly database skills and spreadsheets.
    • Ability to organize, plan and execute multiple tasks to tight schedules.

    • Program PLC’s to ensure optimum performance of all plant and equipment including Kuka robots.
    • Manage the development, implementation, test and maintenance of software and ensuring latest versions are installed.
    • Manage all software and hardware installed on different types of continuous process equipment while ensuring minimal down times, proper documentation and version control.
