Celotex: Offering a top class solution.
Celotex achieves an A+ rating when compared to the BRE Green Guide 2008 and offers a low Ecopoint score through its BRE Approved Environmental Profile. This level of excellence is due in part to the unique manufacturing technologies employed by Celotex, which allow us to deliver a higher performing product than other typical PIR insulation boards.
The 2008 edition of the Green Guide is considered to be a primary tool when evaluating the environmental impact of construction materials and is changing the way people approach construction projects.
This shift is almost exclusively due to the focus on realising the UK’s ambitious carbon reduction programmes. Sustainability, and improved energy performance from buildings are key drivers towards the legally binding target of an 80% reduction in emissions by 2050 as outlined in the Climate Change Act 2008.
BREEAM and the Code for Sustainable Homes are credit based assessment systems that focus on the whole building’s sustainability performance. Both of these use the Green Guide to rate the environmental impacts of applications and materials by way of credits.
The environmental rankings are based on Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), using BRE's Environmental Profiles Methodology 2008. This methodology allows the specifier to compare the performance of comparable systems and assist in the selection of the highest performing products within a category. The highest performing products are denoted A+ in the 2008 Green Guide.
Being the first provider of PIR insulation to achieve these standards, Celotex products can help optimise low carbon sustainable building solutions.
Specifying Celotex PIR insulation will help deliver the relevant credits in construction schemes influenced by BREEAM or the Code for Sustainable Homes.
